About
Hi, I'm Tim, and welcome to OverEngineered-Tech.
This is where I build things that should work the way they're supposed to, then keep tinkering until they do. My goals are hyper-optimized, rock-solid, efficient and easy to use. Each project should do its job well for as long as it should, until new technology comes along. Then I get to optimize that too. (Evil laugh optional.)
By trade I'm a hardware engineer and technology leader. I've worked across consumer, commercial and industrial products, and I've leveraged what I learned in each to build and ship products that reach people around the world. By day I keep doing that. By night and weekend, I put the same experience, and plenty of business sense, into the fun stuff: a fireplace that lights when the cat settles in, a gate that opens from the car, a solar widget that tells you what's going on at a glance.
Everything here is shared in case it helps someone else. For the projects that live on GitHub, questions or bug reports are welcome on the GitHub page.
